Canoe Polo Competition Coaching (Part 1)

The BCU is looking for people to deliver the BCU canoe polo support module. This is an important element in widening the interest and quality of canoe polo played in the UK.

This discipline support module is for the new UKCC scheme (competition bolt on module to core the coaching awards). Part 1 is aimed at training coaches to introducing beginners to canoe polo.
The day is designed for coaches from all paddle-sport disciplines who would like to deliver structured canoe polo sessions within their club or group and clubs who would like to develop their new coaches or polo players.

BCU requirements for applicants to become deliverers:-

  • BCU L3 Coach or equivalent (Coaching experience in canoe polo can be used as an equivalent – the BCU APL process to be followed)
  • Recent experience of educating coaches
  • Varied discipline coaching experience
  • Thorough understanding of tactical, technical, physical and psychological requirements of beginners.

If you are interested in becoming a deliver and would like more information please contact Zoe: zoe.paddling@gmail.com

The plan is to deliver 3 courses in the next 6-8 months in different venues with the aim of delivering the module for coaches as well as giving potential deliverers the opportunity to work alongside others to orientate them with the course content and resources.

Details of these courses will be advertised here once confirmed. Early expressions of interest are appreciated so that plans can be made.
