Youth Initiative
Under the auspices of the Development Academy we are looking to host a series of one day of youth polo activities. We are specifically looking at the interest in not only the development of youth players but also the possibility of canoe polo training sessions, practice games and games.
Working towards the potential to kick start a series of youth leagues event over the summer,
with the potential to then move the activities to the pool over the winter. .
The first activity day being on Sunday June 22nd at Collingwood Dock.
The sessions if supported will run for one day per month through until the year end.
Although we will likely run a late finish to accommodate ‘travellers’ We shall also ensure that attendees have the opportunity to fully participate within the activities planned.
In terms of safety and skills/game savvy then help and support is sought from the clubs visiting.
Participants as minimum need to able to exit a capsized boat.
Ideally clubs will bring their own safety cover along .
Invitations are extended to clubs and individual paddlers aged 12 years minimum onwards.
However if clubs can provide their own appropriate on water coaching cover then the 12 years of age proviso can be more flexible. Safety of course being paramount.

As an encouragement as much to get a feel for the numbers and interest then the first June date is Free of Charge.
We envisage that the programme and activities have a shared input by the participant coach’s and support.
